Santiago was born and has always lived tied to its Cathedral, the focal point of all the historical streets. The Franco Street, one of the busiest in Santiago, has specialised in gastronomy and it is the obliged passage to the City council, the Rector's office or the Faculty of Medicine.
The small Fonseca Square, one of the most beautiful and harmonious of Santiago, is enclosed by the Franco Street, Raíña Street and the imposing façade of the old Fonseca College. Two of its four corners are occupied by our hotels, Barbantes and Libredón. At the centre, a pretty stone fountain, surrounded by camellias, and all this just under the towers of the Cathedral.
