Routes

Santiago de Compostela has traditionally been a point of arrival. The city is at the end of the several pilgrim’s roads known as the Camino de Santiago, routes which have been followed by pilgrims for a thousand years in order to visit the tomb of the Apostle. To these traditional routes are now added the more modern systems of transport bringing visitors by both land and air travel.
Located not far from the center of Galicia, Santiago de Compostela, as a starting point, offers the possibility of reaching other places of interest in Galicia’s varied and fascinating territory in a very short time.
Such is the case of cities like A Coruña, Ferrol, Lugo, Pontevedra or Vigo, but also of beautiful and accesible places in the country: centenary forests, green mountain landscapes, rivers, charming villages graced by hórreos (raised granaries) and cruceiros (stone crosses), country palaces and gardens full of history, fortresses, thousands of churches, convents and monasteries, typical fishing vilages and medieval acropolis, millenial prehistoric routes and different pilgrim’s roads to Santiago. Also, of course, the longest and most important coastline in Spain, including the famous Rías (fjordlike inlets), the Baixas and the Altas, where mountains merge with the sea, and the abrupt and legendary Costa da Morte (Coast of Death).
There are also the deservedly famous wines of Galicia to accompany an excellent gastronomic offer based on natural products of the highest quality, the gift of the fertile Galician countryside and its privileged waters.
The singularity of a fascinating and intangible patrimony of folklore, superstitions and beliefs which speak of the ancestral and mystical character of traditional Galicia complete the repertoire of assets of this magical country.To reveal some of the most remarkable features of Galicia’s endlessly rich heritage, Compostela Visión offers you a regular service of day trips from Santiago, made up of a total of 11 different itineraries distributed throughout the week, which will take you to some of the places in Galicia that should not be missed. Also, for groups of over 25 people, Compostela Visión makes available a series of optional itineraries made to fit.
For the nights of Friday and Saturday we offer a package including a panoramic tour around the town, followed by a visit to an emblazoned rural pazo (palace), to later attend a typical outdoor Galician feria (fair or picnic), complete with octopus, pipe players and bombas de palenque, then to be followed by a dinner in the halls of the pazo, rich with history. At midnight, the hour of the witches, the spell of the queimada. This is the Galician Noche Meiga (‘witches night’), the most varied night and the height of your stay in Santiago and Galicia.

Compostela Visión’s trips include:
- transport, in modern and comfortable buses for 50 passengers, equipped with special seats for small children;
- the service of a professional guide, able to guide visits in several different languages;
